Student Employment assists MTSU students in finding part-time jobs (full-time in summer) to help offset educational and living expenses. The objective is to connect students with employers who offer jobs that are flexible and can accommodate students’ class schedules. Because of our large commuter population, the job location must be in Rutherford County or surrounding counties in feasible commuting distance to campus:

Are you a student looking to work on campus? Many of these jobs are posted in Lightning CareerLink, but we also have a list below of on-campus employers who have rolling applications.
Students are advised to immediately contact the Career Development Center if they suspect any posting in the Student Employment Program is fraudulent. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. All students are required to review our publication, Protecting Yourself from Fraudulent Job Postings, before participating in the Student Employment Program.
Opportunities Not Posted in the Student Employment Program:
- Opportunities outside of the 12 county geographic area.
- Full-time jobs unless specifically listed as summer positions.
- In-home services at private residents such as tutoring, cleaning, personal care, or yard work.
- Home-based businesses without a commercial location.
- Multi-level marketing/sales; any business opportunity requiring an investment or charging a fee; or soliciting business from MTSU students.
- Positions from other job boards or web sites.
- Positions that are unpaid or less than minimum wage.
- Virtual positions.
We reserve the right to refuse postings that do not support the interests of the University.
There may be positions that not meet the requirements for the Student Employment Program or our Lightning CareerLink campus recruiting program. These positions can be posted with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development at area Job Centers (http://www.tn.gov/workforce/topic/find-local-help) or other commercial job posting sites.
The Career Development Center staff screens each employer and job posting in the Student Employment Program. However, we cannot guarantee the integrity of every employer or job posting. Students are responsible for performing necessary due diligence and taking precautions when responding to a job posting, interviewing or accepting positions and each student is responsible for obtaining necessary information concerning the employer
