Scholarships

Announcing the 2018 CIS scholarships.  Below is a summary of all CIS scholarships.  To apply (and I know you will apply), follow the links below that pertain to the scholarships that you are interested in applying for this year.  All scholarship winners will be announced by the beginning of April.  

Due date for all scholarships is March 1st

The following are descriptions for all scholarships.

Steve and Kathy Anderson Scholarship (2 at $2,500) 

  • This survey is to identify if you are eligible for the Steve and Kathy Anderson Scholarship for CIS students.  This is a privately funded scholarship and it has specific criteria. 
  • Must be a INFS major, a TN resident, and have at least one semester left prior to graduation.

CIS Frontier Scholarship (3 at $750 each)

  • The Frontier Scholarships are awarded to applicants that go above and beyond to achieve their educational goals. Applicants for the Frontier Scholarship will be hardworking students that struggle with the financial burdens of attending school.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. Demonstrate a financial need. Applicants must complete the 500 word-maximum essay about "What would this scholarship mean to you in obtaining your Information Systems degree?"

CIS Excellence Scholarship (2 at $500) 

  • The Excellence Scholarships are competitively awarded to applicants based on academic achievement.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher. Applicants must complete the 500 word-maximum essay about "What was your path to choosing Information Systems, and what will your future in the field hold?"

CIS Ambassador Scholarship (2 at $300 each) 

  • The Ambassador Scholarships are awarded to applicants based service to the University and to the community.
  • Applicants will need to detail their recent service activities that have provided benefits to the University and/or to the greater community. Activities that will happen before the beginning of the Fall 2017 semester should also be provided.

CIS Young Alumni Council Scholarship (1 at $500 each) 

  • The Young Alumni Council Scholarship is awarded by the newly formed CIS Young Alumni Council.  This group is comprised of all young CIS alumni and the intent of the group is to promote MTSU, be engaged with the CIS department, network with alumni, and help students as they transition into their careers. 
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. Detail how they embody the true meaning of being "True Blue" and how they plan to represent MTSU after graduation.
