MTSU uses the FWi Content Manager to store, deploy and schedule content to signs on the digital signage network. Enterprise digital sign management is in place to manage timely accurate information for logistics and wayfinding via digital signs, provide a venue for promotion of university-related communications, and promote a sense of place (comfort/belonging/connection) to the University. It will be overseen by the Digital Signage Planning Committee, chaired by the AVP for Academic and Instructional Technologies, providing input and recommendations to the University Vice Presidents.
Digital Signs Planning Committee
The committee is composed of representatives from the following administrative units and is responsible for establishing and overseeing digital signage guidelines, procedures & standards. The committee is responsible for working with campus units in planning and implementing digital signage.
Initiates digital signage projects; is responsible for system administration, wireframes, template and content development, technical implementation; determines possibilities of content integration with other systems; approves hardware purchases to ensure compatibility with the enterprise system; manages campus-wide resources required for digital signage, including servers and network infrastructure; serves as the interface between campus constituents and the committee.
University Marketing and Communications
Manages campus-wide focused content and assures digital signage content and messaging aligns with university branding / design guidelines.
Campus Planning and Facilities
Approves architecturally appropriate physical installation and placement of digital signage devices; responsible for ADA, floor plans and campus wayfinding reviews.
Provides guidance on integration of student–related content and acts as interface between Student Affairs Division departments, student organizations and the committee.
Provides guidance on integration of faculty and academic–related content and acts as interface between Academic Affairs Division departments, faculty and the committee.
Provides guidance on integration of athletic–related content and acts as interface between athletics and athletic marketing and the committee.
