Rhetoric and public address; American public address; fundamentals of communication; American history, especially American oratory and literature; one specialty: American political communication and American religious communication, with a definitive book publication in each of these two areas.


Completed a B. A. degree in religion at Lipscomb University, a M. A. and Ph. D. in speech communication at Wayne State University, some thirty hours of post-doctoral graduate studies in fields of psychology, history, religion, and political science.  Author of about twenty published books, given one national book award and one state (Tennessee) award, "Best Book" for a definitive work in labor history.
