Biography

Summer Dickinson joined the faculty at MTSU in 2017. As an ABD doctoral candidate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she researches materiality, sensation, and spatiality in writing and rhetoric studies with her most recent work exploring the ability of objects to expose unexamined properties of writing. Summer Dickinson joined the faculty at MTSU in 2017. As an ABD doctoral candidate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she researches materiality, sensation, and spatiality in writing and rhetoric studies with her most recent work exploring the ability of objects to expose unexamined properties of writing. Her papers have been accepted and presented both internationally and domestically at various conference seminars including: Monash University, Australia; Smith College, Massachusetts; and University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Besides various online and pedagogy publictions, she also has four book chapter publications on materiality and sensorium in writing studies. As the daughter of a writer, she finds teaching writing both fulfilling and challenging.
