Biography

Veronica Edwards Douglas

Veronica Edwards Douglas

Veronica Edwards Douglas is a native of Humboldt, Tennessee and makes her home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  She has spent her life in music studying piano at the very young age of three years old from her mother.  Veronica spent her childhood competing and performing throughout her years in grade school and high school studying uner the tutelage of the respected pedagogue and musician, Alice Adams Jackson of Humboldt, Tennessee.  After high school graduation, she attended Middle Tennessee State University on scholarship studying with Dr. Jerry Perkins and Dr. Charlene Harb earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance in 1990 and a Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy in 1993.  As a graduate teaching assistant, she taught applied piano lessons and class piano.  Veronica currently conducts an active piano studio from her home and is Adjunct Professor of Piano at Middle Tennessee State University. 

For the past thrity years, Douglas has conducted a successful and active piano studio, with students receiving honorable mention and superior ratings in the Tennessee Music Teachers Association competition, Clavierfest as well as other competitions.

Professor Douglas is a member of the Middle Tennessee Music Teachers Association previously holding office of president, secretary, handbook chairperson and accreditation.  From 20111 to 2013, she served as President of the Tennessee Music Teachers Association performing duties pertinent to that position. TMTA is the state affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association. Veronica is the chairperson of the Murfreesboro area of National Guild of Piano Teachers, which is the Teacher Division of the American College of Musicians.
