Travel Grants and Funding Opportunities

Numerous funding opportunities (both inside and outside of the General Education English Office) exist for instructors wanting to further their pedagogical growth. Please see the the Business Office's Travel page for information on submitting Travel Authorizations and Travel Expense Claims.

Funding Opportunities for All Faculty (including GTAs)

General Education English Faculty Development Grant

Requests for funding will be considered throughout the fall and spring semesters, whenever the General Education English Committee meets. All requests should directly relate to either the General Education courses you teach or for the work you do for General Education English.

Please complete the General Education English Faculty Development Grant Form and apply well in advance of your proposed travel. You must submit a travel authorization form prior to travel and a claim for travel expenses when you return.

MTSU Motor Pool

If you are considering attending a workshop or conference within driving distance and have limited transportation options, then you may consider applying to use a MTSU vehicle through the MTSU Motor Pool.

 

For Full-Time Faculty and Staff Only

Access and Diversity Funding

These funds, available for women or persons of color, can be used toward professional development and educational experiences that contribute to furthering MTSU's Mission Statement on Access and Diversity. For GTAs Only

MTSU's College of Graduate Studies

MTSU's College of Graduate Studies offers limited travel funds for graduate students to use towards presenting at conferences. Eligible graduate students may apply for $500 once per fiscal year (July 1st--June 30th) or until funds are no longer available.
