Self-Help

Tennessee Tobacco QuitLine

The state offers a free telephone service that provides support to callers looking to quit smoking or using tobacco.  The phone lines are staffed seven days a week, and there is no limit to the number of times a person may call.  The QuitLine is available Monday through Friday from 7:00am-10:00pm central time, on Saturdays from 8:00am-5:00pm, and on Sundays from 10:00am-4:00pm.  There is also free online help at www.tnquitline.org.

Freedom from Smoking - Home

The American Lung Association offers an online cessation program that consists of seven sections.  Once you create an account with the website, you can proceed through the sections at your own pace.  The program is available here.

You’ve Got What it Takes!

The American Cancer Society offers this self-help guide as a downloadable pdf file.  The guide consists of three sections designed to help you make a decision to be smoke free, to let you know what to expect in a quit effort, and to help you prepare for situations where remaining smoke free could be hard.  The guide is available at no cost here.
