FAQs

Q. I'm sick and the Student Health Services is closed, what should I do?

An after hours telephone advice nurse is available by calling 615-898-2988 and following the prompts. Experienced advice nurses can help you figure out the best course of action: do you need immediate medical care, an appointment the next day, or will self-care help you? You may be asked for your student M number in order to use this service.

Important Note: The after-hours service is for those who are sick. If you have a routine or minor health concern or question, you should continue to call us during the day or leave a message to be answered the next business day.

If you have a medical emergency, dial 911 . Be prepared to give your name, your exact location and the nature of the injury or illness.

Q. The Student Health Services has blocked me from registering for classes. What should I do?

If you have a registration hold from Student Health Services, it is due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You have an unpaid balance from Student Health Services. This hold may be released by paying the balance in full at the Business Office or online through PipelineMT:
      1. Sign into PipelineMT.
      2. Select Billing/Payment.
      3. Select Pay Balance/Installment.
  2. You have an outstanding immunization requirement. You can view your holds through your PipelineMT account. You can see what is required on our Immunization Requirements page.
      1. Sign into PipelineMT.
      2. Select Registration/Student Records.
      3. Select Holds listed under Priority Registration Tools.

Q. Can my contraception prescription be filled at the MTSU Campus Pharmacy?

Yes, you can get your prescriptions filled at the pharmacy. To have your prescription written at Health Services you must bring your most recent Pap Test results to the clinic, to become part of your medical record.

Q. Who is eligible for services at the Student Health Services?

All currently registered MTSU students are eligible to receive care at Health Services. During the summer term, students who are not taking summer classes but were enrolled during the previous spring term and registered for the upcoming fall term, may use Health Services by paying a Summer Health Fee of $25 per visit plus any lab or medication fees incurred at the time of the visit.

For allergy patients who are not enrolled during the summer term, but were enrolled during the previous spring term and registered for the upcoming fall term there is a one time $20 Summer Health Fee plus the standard allergy shot fee each visit.
