The digital history program at MTSU is dedicated to advancing historical research and outreach through the use of digital media. Our focus in on engaging undergraduate and graduate students with digital history methods and producing public-facing projects of significance.

Graduate Digital History Curriculum

Hist 6450/7450 Digital Tools for Historians Introduces the fields of digital history and humanities with a particular focus on how digital history can serve public historians. Explores the standards and methods of the field through the production of a collaborative digital history project.

Hist 3870 Doing Digital History Students apply research skills to create an interactive historical map of Downtown Nashville. We will blend traditional research skills with historical GIS and web design in this hands-on upper-division course. Digital natives and novices welcome.
