Cheryl Floyd
July 30, 1947 ~ August 19, 2013
Cheryl Floyd was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1947. She married James Floyd, Jr. on February 10, 1968. She grew up in Kentucky, but moved to Tennessee upon marrying James Floyd. They had two daughters, Shawnda Michele Gossage and Shannon Marie Floyd. Cheryl was as an avid reader, lover of British comedies, and fan of Bob Dylan. She also loved her adopted dog Ana. Cheryl started working in the history department at MTSU as an executive aide and found joy in helping the students she encountered every day. Cheryl's daughter Shannon described her as an incredible mother and best friend, "She took on the role of mother to kids that needed a gentle and understanding soul to listen to and love them."
