Men’s Tennis receives C-USA Academic Award

IRVING, Texas - Middle Tennessee's men's tennis team boasted Conference USA's best team grade point average in their sport for the 2017-18 academic year, the conference office announced today.

The team, led by head coach Jimmy Borendame, posted a 3.779 GPA in the last academic year. Nine out of the ten Blue Raiders on the 2017-18 squad earned a spot on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, with five players also claiming a C-USA Academic Medal.

Recently, eight of the team members were all named ITA Scholar Athletes, and the team received All-Academic Team honors. Miguel Negre Fernandez was also named to the C-USA Men's Tennis All-Academic team in April.
