Cadre Biographies
Gloria Hamilton, Ph.D. is a licensed Health Service Provider in Psychology with a doctorate from Peabody
College of Vanderbilt University in Clinical Psychology and a doctorate in Special
Education. Dr. Hamilton is Professor of Psychology at MTSU and teaches Health Psychology, Psychology
of Exceptional Children, Ethics, Applied Psychopharmacology, Psychology of Criminal
Behavior, and supervises practicum students in psychology. Dr. Hamilton works with
children, adolescents, families and schools in the area of learning and behavior challenges
as well as classroom management. Additionally, Dr. Hamilton has expertise in working
with Addictions and Chronic Pain.
Mark Bloodworth serves as the HIV Education Consultant in the State Office of Coordinated School
Health.His position is a partnership between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's
- Division of Adolescent and School Health(DASH) and the Tennessee Department of Education.
His primary responsibilities are to provide HIV, STI and teen pregnancy prevention
education and technical assistance regarding these issues to the local education agencies
(LEAs) of Tennessee. He also oversees the statewide administration of DASH′s -- Youth
Risk Behavior Survey Systemand the School Health Profiles.
Prior to serving as HIV Education Consultant, Mark worked as a School Psychologist
and served as a Behavior Consultant for schools, hospitals, and neuro-behavior units.He
has an extensive background in brain injury rehabilitation that includes neuropsychological
assessment and behavior analysis and was a past President of the Brain Injury Association
of Tennessee.
Joe "Coach" Malone Ph.D., CPT, LWMC, serves as adjunct faculty at MTSU. His classes range from Health and Wellness to
Personal Conditioning. He is a Ph.D. student in the Health and Human Performance department
at MTSU. His area of specialization is women's health- related fitness with an emphasis
on health psychology.
Prior to coming to MTSU Coach served as a fitness professional and coached football
and track. He has an extensive background in the neuropsychological underpinnings
to behavioral health. Coach has developed an expertise in team building and biopsychosocial-based
stress reduction. He has spoken and been published nationally on health promotion.
Coach has served as a past President of the Nashville Community Health and Wellness
Team.
