The Jewish and Holocaust Studies Minor Program

Jewish and Holocaust Studies Minor

The MTSU Jewish and Holocaust Studies (JHS) minor offers undergraduate students an opportunity to study the diasporic culture and religion of the Jewish people alongside the Holocaust within an interdisciplinary minor program housed in the College of Liberal Arts and affiliated with Global Studies. Studies include courses in history and culture, the humanities and social sciences, and the methodologies of Jewish studies and genocide studies disciplines. The 15-hour minor provides opportunity for rich and enlightening intellectual development that complements many majors, from History and World Languages and Literatures to Sociology and Religious Studies. Students are encouraged to develop greater understanding of the relationship of the past to the present and to embrace tolerance and respect for diversity as they confront hate and reject violence.
