Advisor Training Committee (2017-2020)

Well-trained advisors add significant value to institutions in terms of learning, persistence, and overall student satisfaction.  Advisors need planned, comprehensive training and development that span their careers.

NACADA, 2017

Academic advising is an ever-evolving job. The task of the Training Committee is thus to ensure advisors are provided information- and skill-training on a continual basis. Step one was to create an online compontent. The Professional Development and Training committees partnered to create this website in the hopes of establishing a supportive, resourceful place for advisors to go to for answers. Step two is to ensure all advising centers share the same foundational knowledge necessary to do our best work. Through Refresher and New Hire Trainings, we strive to use information and best practice sharing so that MTSU's decentralized advising centers can stay connected and feel supported.

  • See the Events page to register for scheduled trainings.
  • See Trainings Archive for a look at past training session notes and agendas.
  • Use the Comments/Questions form if you have suggestions to offer for future trainings.
