Walker Library Spring Festival

Walker Library to host family-oriented Spring Festival on March 7, 2020

MURFREESBORO – With more than two decades as a vital member of the Murfreesboro community, Middle Tennessee State University’s James E. Walker Library will host its first-ever Spring Festival of the Arts on Saturday, March 7. The event is open to everyone, especially those with children, and it will serve as a fundraiser to support the library’s student success efforts, including the recently-launched library textbook program.

The day is set to begin at noon and run through 4 p.m.

The festival will include musical performances and Latin dance demonstrations as well as readings from MTSU faculty and students. For families and kids, there will be storytelling performed by Susan Ramsay, a book art activity, drawing sessions, and Family Frolic, which is an interactive dance demonstration. In addition, MTSU alumni will be selling art, and appetizers will be provided by Hernandez Deli. Food trucks will be on hand too.

Admission is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10 for one person or $20 for a family. All admission proceeds will directly go to the Library Textbook Program. For more information, please visit library.mtsu.edu/springfest. If you would like to donate to James E. Walker Library, check out library.mtsu.edu/give.

As a partner of the Walker Library's First Annual Spring Festival your donated work will support the Department of Art and Design's Scholarship Programs.
