Student Orientation Assistant (SOA)
SOAs lead and assist with CUSTOMS Orientation sessions. They facilitate the transition of new undergraduate students into the university and provide an inside look at student life at MTSU. Applications are accepted between October- November each year. This is a paid position and requires a semester of group training that begins in the spring semester. The full work begins after training, from April-August.

The deadline to submit applications is November 20, 2023. We will begin interviews for those that turn in an application beginning October 18, 2023. When your application is submitted you will be contacted by email from the Office of New Student and Family Programs to schedule an interview. Please check your MTMail.

Clerical CUSTOMS Staff
The CUSTOMS Clerical staff position is a part time paid position beginning in late March through the end of the spring semester at approximately 5-12 hours per week. The work increases to 25-29 hours from the beginning of May until the beginning of August (during the CUSTOMS season).
We are now accepting applications for the CUSTOMS Clerical Staff. The Clerical Staff works in the CUSTOMS office and handles phone calls, mail-outs, daily computer reporting, and other office tasks. The part- time position will be available in late March and will continue until August 12. The spring semester will require hours worked around student’s class schedule. The deadline for applications is March 20, but interviews will begin as soon as applications are received and the positions will close when all positions have been filled.
