Biography
Aaron M. Gamino received his Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University. He received his B.A. in economics and philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Gamino’s research evaluates government policies in an economic framework. His research focuses on insurance, fertility, and contemporary policy issues. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Economics & Politics, The Canadian Tax Journal, Health Economics, the American Journal of Health Economics, the Journal of Demographic Economics, Applied Economics, The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy, and Economics Letters. He has presented his research at national conferences, including the Southern Economic Association Meetings, American Society of Health Economists Conferences, and Kentucky Economic Association Conference.
Gamino has mentored Ph.D. students by chairing three dissertations and serving as a committee member for seven dissertations. He has also supervised undergraduate students as a chair of two honors theses and as the economics club faculty advisor.
Gamino is also active in serving the university. He has served on many department, college, and university committees, and has begun a term on the faculty senate. He has organized the Economics and Finance Graduate Research Day, which allows Economics Ph.D. students to present their work to peers and faculty.
