Biography
Andrea Seaton Kelton is the MTSU Accounting Advisory Board Outstanding Professor and Professor of Accounting at MTSU. Dr. Kelton holds a Ph. D. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee and a B.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from James Madison University. Prior to joining MTSU, Dr. Kelton taught courses in Accounting Analytics and Accounting Information Systems at Wake Forest University and the University of South Florida. Read More »Andrea Seaton Kelton is the MTSU Accounting Advisory Board Outstanding Professor and Professor of Accounting at MTSU. Dr. Kelton holds a Ph. D. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee and a B.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from James Madison University. Prior to joining MTSU, Dr. Kelton taught courses in Accounting Analytics and Accounting Information Systems at Wake Forest University and the University of South Florida. She worked as a senior auditor for KPMG LLP in Washington, DC and Denver, CO prior to entering academia. Dr. Kelton’s research investigates how characteristics of accounting systems impact the usefulness of accounting information and, ultimately, decisions made by market participants. She has published in several academic journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Information Systems, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and International Journal of Accounting Information Systems. Dr. Kelton is currently serving as an Editor for Issues in Accounting Education and on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Information Systems, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and Current Issues in Auditing.
