For 14 years, Clarke served as Director of Studio Services at Warner Music Nashville,
overseeing studio operations, acoustical upgrades, and assistant engineer training. He
spearheaded major renovations, including a full rebuild of Studio B, and played a key
role in the design and launch of Warner’s new Content Studio Facility on Music Row.
Clarke Schleicher’s journey into the world of music and sound began in elementary
school, when his early love of playing instruments gradually evolved into a deep
fascination with recorded audio. That spark ignited when his father, an Air Force
Reserve officer, enlisted Clarke’s help to record and edit training seminars. After
completing the sessions, Clarke would spend hours experimenting with recording his
favorite radio songs, unwittingly laying the foundation for a lifelong career in audio
engineering.
By eighth grade, Clarke knew exactly what he wanted to be: a recording engineer. He
took the first steps toward that goal by earning a Bachelor of Science in Recording
Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University, with minors in business
management and music.
Clarke’s professional career began at Nashville’s iconic Cedarwood Publishing, where
he served as both studio manager and engineer. He then joined Bennett House Studios,
working with renowned artists such as Neil Young, Amy Grant, and Dion. As a freelance
engineer, Clarke became a trusted collaborator within Nashville’s elite recording circles,
working with acclaimed artists such as Joan Baez, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, The
Chicks, Marie Osmond, Blake Shelton, Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, Dan + Shay, Chris
Isaak, Jake Owen, Faith Hill, Mark Chesnutt, Big and Rich, John Anderson and Lady A.
