Biography
Curt Casassa is an Emmy / Dove / Telly Award winning entertainment television director who has directed television specials of all kinds. Casassa spent 16 years at The Nashville Network before going solo, which has been over 20 years now. Casassa spent 16 years at The Nashville Network before going solo, which has been over 20 years now. He got his break as an in-demand Associate Director for various Los Angeles directors, most notably Alan Carter, Ron DeMoraes, Paul Miller, Joe DeMaio, Ryan Polito, and several others. Casassa was the Associate Director for the 2016 and 2020 Republican National Convention”, as well as the hit show on CW network “Penn & Teller: Fool Us, seasons, 2-4”. Casassa was also the AD for “Dancing With The Stars”, “Miss America”, “The Ellen Show”, “Drop The Mic” for TBS, and a Brad Paisley/John Fogarty Concert performances for “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.When making the move to director, he has applied his knowledge as one of the top AD’s around to assume the role as director, and he hasn’t disappointed.
Casassa has directed major Television shows as well as major Corporate events from the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular, a TV extravaganza celebrating Oklahoma’s 100 years as a state for which he won an Emmy Award, The 129th Rose Parade, presented by Honda, directing the pool feed coverage for all networks covering the parade. Casassa also directed Kaleidoscope, a figure skating/performance special for Fox Network for the past 4 years, featuring many of the iconic skaters we watched in the Olympics . Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill host. The program has been a ratings winner every year.
Most recently Casassa directed “The 129th Rose Parade” Show’s open and closing performances for all the networks coverage (pool feed), “Good Morning America at the CMA Concert” w/ Tim McGraw, The Gamers’ Choice Awards in Hollywood, the “Pepsi / Billboard Michael Jackson Tribute” in New York City, and the “West Texas Rehab Telethon”, which raised 1.5 million dollars for the Physical Rehabilitation Center in 2020..All have been ratings winners. In 2021, Casassa has been hired to Direct a talk show series for The Daily Wire called “Candace” with political conservative host Candace Owens. Casassa was also the AD for performances by Reba McEntire and The Jonas Brothers for the Macy’s July 4th special on NBC in 2021.
Casassa is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.
