Since her time in television news, she's been nominated for two Emmys on her work on mental health and The Covenant School shooting.
In her professional career, she's worked for The Tennesseean, where she won the Public Service Award from the Tennessee Press Association. That work translated to barriers going up at the Natchez Trace Bridge in Williamson County to prevent death by suicide. While at The Tennessean, she won the Best of Gannett: Collaboration Award with others for their work on the Confederate Reckoning project. She also contributed to awards won by the Tennessean for its coverage of the March 2020 tornadoes and the Nashville bombing.
She is a proud alumna of Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her B.S. in journalism with minors in political science and English.
