Biography
Gloria Green is an Associate Professor in the Music Business program at Middle Tennessee State University where she teaches Live Entertainment courses including Artist Management, Concert Promotions & Touring, Music Publicity, and Talent Agency Fundamentals.

At MTSU she serves on numerous college and department committees including the Recording Industry Department’s Marketing committee, and student Recruitment and Retention committee. Gloria chairs the College of Media & Entertainment’s Diversity and Inclusion committee, serves on the College’s Mental Health Task Force, is a faculty mentor on the College’s Mentorship committee, and served as the chair of the College’s Soft Skills committee since its creation in 2017 to 2022.
Additionally, Gloria serves on the MTSU Career Development Center Advisory Board, MTSU’s Chris Young Café Advisory Board, and Sony Music’s Helping Unite Everyone Partner Advisory Board.
Prior to teaching, Gloria was a Music Agent at the world–renowned William Morris Agency (now WME) where she negotiated concert bookings for a diverse roster of faith-based Christian and country music artists including Cece Winans, Charlie Daniels, Jaci Velasquez, Josh Turner, Joy Williams, Kirk Franklin, Newsboys, Out of Eden, Randy Travis, Switchfoot, Take 6, and others. After leaving WMA, Gloria launched her own faith-based entertainment company providing artist development, consulting, and public relations services, before transitioning into Academia.
Gloria earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina, where she interned in the Sports Information Office working for the Gamecocks football, and men’s and women’s basketball programs. As a Graduate student, Gloria also worked part-time as an assistant to the press secretary in the SC Lieutenant Governor’s office. Following graduation, after a short stint as a Writer with the SC Forestry Commission, Gloria worked at the SC Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism as the Public Information Officer for SC State Parks for five years before moving to Nashville to work at WMA.
Gloria remains active in the music industry as an alumni member of the Women in Music Business Association (WMBA), a member of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment (NABFEME), and the International Entertainment Buyer’s Association (IEBA), where she served on the Educational Outreach Fund Board for three years.
She is a long-time member of the Gospel MusicAssociation (GMA), serving nine years on their Foundation Board of Directors. And as a current academic member of the Music Business Association, Gloria has presented at five Music Biz conferences. She is also a member of the Music & Entertainment Industry Education Association (MEIEA) where she currently serves on the Board of Directors.
