Biography

Dr. Graham West is a lecturer of Data Science at MTSU. He earned his undergraduate degree at Trevecca Nazarene University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Mathematics and Physics, as well as a minor in Philosophy. He then accepted an assistantship at MTSU where he earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics in 2017 on the way to his PhD in Computational and Data Science.

Dr. Graham West is a lecturer of Data Science at MTSU. He earned his undergraduate degree at Trevecca Nazarene University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Mathematics and Physics, as well as a minor in Philosophy. He then accepted an assistantship at MTSU where he earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics in 2017 on the way to his PhD in Computational and Data Science.

Graham's doctoral dissertation "On fitting the morphology of simulations of interacting galaxies to synthetic data" focused on developing methods to fit simulations of interacting galaxies to observational data. He is also a part of the Ancient Lives project which utilizes data science and machine learning techniques to study ancient Greek papyri fragments.

Outside the realm of science, Graham is a musician and composer, and loves to study the intersection of philosophy and theology.
