Areas of Expertise
My students and I conduct discipline-centered education research in the field of biology. We have a diversity of research foci that include the complex classroom ecology formed between interactions of students, instructors, and the content within various learning environments. My current interests include examining faculty knowledge, beliefs, and implementation efficacy of research-based instructional strategies and the impacts of professional development on these variables. I also am interested in the interactions of student goal orientations in small group learning.
