My journey began on the front lines, responding to calls and working directly with the community. Over time, I transitioned into investigative work, handling complex cases ranging from homicides and armed robberies to sophisticated fraud schemes. As I advanced, I took on increasing responsibility, first as a sergeant, then assistant chief, and ultimately as Chief. In these supervisory roles, I managed the department’s administrative operations, designed and implemented officer training programs, and led the creation of new policies and procedures.
During my tenure in law enforcement, I concurrently acted as an independent contractor for the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services. In this capacity, I evaluated adherence to state standards for enforcement agencies within Ohio. My responsibilities included assisting police departments in achieving compliance by examining their policies on Use of Force, Recruitment and Hiring, Community Engagement, Body Cameras, Bias-Free Policing, Pursuit Policy, and Police Misconduct Investigations.
I retired from law enforcement in 2022 and moved to Franklin, TN with my wife, Kara.
On a part time basis, I provide executive protection for high profile events here in Nashville. During these events I am responsible for safeguarding high-profile individuals, such as, celebrities, business leaders or dignitaries. This work involves assessing risks, coordinating with local law enforcement, and ensuring the client’s safety at public events, hotels, and offices.
My academic background includes over 20 years of instructing at the college level in both online and traditional settings and serving as a faculty advisor on boards for two universities. I've had the pleasure of working at several institutions.
These include:

Southern New Hampshire University (NH)
