Before entering academia, Dr. Johns was a trial lawyer, staff attorney for the Tennessee Department of Treasury, and assistant general counsel for American General Life Insurance Company. He was former editor of the Jones College�s magazine, Tennessee�s Business. He is the ranking member of the Department of Accounting, now in his 33rd year at MTSU.
