Biography

Ian Edward White (b. 1996, San Jose, CA) is a photographer based in Nashville, TN. White has produced two artist books entitled Deep Fried Hope (Soup Press, edition of 40, 2020) and The Animals (2020) (Self-Published, edition of 50, 2020), been a part of fourteen group exhibitions including The Community with Arcanite Pictures in Seattle, WA and DRAFT at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY, and two two/three-person exhibitions. Ian Edward White (b. 1996, San Jose, CA) is a photographer based in Nashville, TN. White has produced two artist books entitled Deep Fried Hope (Soup Press, edition of 40, 2020) and The Animals (2020) (Self-Published, edition of 50, 2020), been a part of fourteen group exhibitions including The Community with Arcanite Pictures in Seattle, WA and DRAFT at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY, and two two/three-person exhibitions. His work was selected for the 2022 Urbanautica Institute Awards and the 2022 Lenscratch Student Prize: 25 to Watch List, among other awards and scholarships. White’s images have been featured in periodicals like The New York Times, Musée Magazine, Fujifilm-X USA, GASP, and Transference Magazine. He has taught photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently a Lecturer at Middle Tennessee State University.
