Biography
James Durham teaches in the Undergraduate Video and Film Program and the graduate MFA Film and Television program. He is a writer and director who has written and directed two produced feature films, including Winning Favor, which was distributed by E-One Entertainment (now Lionsgate), streamed internationally on Netflix, and made available through major retailers, including Walmart. Read More »James Durham teaches in the Undergraduate Video and Film Program and the graduate MFA Film and Television program. He is a writer and director who has written and directed two produced feature films, including Winning Favor, which was distributed by E-One Entertainment (now Lionsgate), streamed internationally on Netflix, and made available through major retailers, including Walmart. Durham has also directed commercial projects for brands such as Staples and JennAir. His video campaign for Weighting Comforts generated more than 2 million views online and helped launch a new industry segment, demonstrating the power of storytelling and digital media to engage audiences and drive attention. Previously, he was on the Faculty of Northwestern College, Iowa, where he served as assistant professor and later department chair. He was also the creator of Nashville Film Institute’s initial curriculum He holds an MFA in Screen and Scriptwriting from Regent University and a BS in Business Marketing from the University of Tennessee. He recently completed graduate studies in Online Teaching and Learning at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
