Biography
After 5 years as an Administrative Services Supervisor at State Farm in Jacksonville, FL, Jean Wilson has been teaching in some capacity at MTSU since August 1999. She completed the Dale Carnegie® Training program in 2015 and is certified as one of only a small number of trainers in the Jones College of Business as a senior trainer. Read More »After 5 years as an Administrative Services Supervisor at State Farm in Jacksonville, FL, Jean Wilson has been teaching in some capacity at MTSU since August 1999. She completed the Dale Carnegie® Training program in 2015 and is certified as one of only a small number of trainers in the Jones College of Business as a senior trainer. Jean is versatile and adaptable as she has taught over a dozen different Management, Business Administration, and Marketing courses.
She has a passion for hands-on learning, with at least half of her courses being designated as either EXL, Engage, or both. As the Management Department’s Career Coordinator and an IGNITE Advisor, she works closely with students, providing professional development workshops and one-on-one resume sessions, and co-coordinates the career fair, BEST, a college-wide career fair in the Jones College of Business in the spring and the "Career Showcase", a college-wide career fair outside in the courtyard in the fall.
She served three years on the Board of Directors for The Journey Home (www.lovegodservepeople.org), was a CASA volunteer in Rutherford County for 8 years, and continues to volunteer monthly at her church.
Jean lives in Murfreesboro with her husband, Tony, has three children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren: Jessica (Parker), Wesley & (Lizzie), and Joshua.
