Biography

Katie Morris-Fitch has proudly served Middle Tennessee State University for the past 10 years. She began her career at MTSU in 2016 as Administrative Coordinator for The Center for Innovation in Media and WMOT 89.5 FM, the university’s National Public Radio station, and currently serves as Executive Assistant for the School of Journalism and Strategic Media.

Katie Morris-Fitch has proudly served Middle Tennessee State University for the past 10 years. She began her career at MTSU in 2016 as Administrative Coordinator for The Center for Innovation in Media and WMOT 89.5 FM, the university’s National Public Radio station, and currently serves as Executive Assistant for the School of Journalism and Strategic Media.

Throughout her career, Katie has coordinated major events and initiatives, including the School of Journalism and Strategic Media’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Sidelines Centennial Celebration, and the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium. She is passionate about supporting students, faculty, and staff and has been nominated four times as A Person Who Makes a Difference in a Senior’s Life.

Katie was named MTSU’s Administrative Professional Employee of the Year in 2024 and earned the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) credential in 2025. She currently serves as Vice President of Middle Tennessee Administrative Professionals, where she advocates for the growth, development, and recognition of administrative professionals.

Known for her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to service, Katie values lifelong learning, community, and helping others succeed.
