She earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Business & Marketing from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Global Entertainment from Berklee College of Music in 2018. She began her career as an artist and tour manager before launching Prospective Media Management, a boutique artist services company supporting independent musicians. In 2019, she transitioned into music publishing, where her work has included licensing, publishing administration, and rights management. As a graduate student at Berklee, Kim’s experiential learning included serving on the on-ground team for CD Baby’s first European DIY Musicians Conference and working as a production assistant through Berklee’s Graduate Teaching Fellowship program for the inaugural Musaico Music Festival in Valencia, Spain. Kim currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University, where she brings her professional experience into the classroom through practical, industry-focused instruction in music publishing, artist development, licensing, and the business of recorded music. She is also the co-founder and executive director of the L.O.V.E. Academy, a fiscally sponsored project of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville that provides educational programming for middle and high school students in areas including music, filmmaking, entrepreneurship, STEM, and the creative arts.
