Melinda Korzaan teaches courses in advanced web application development and IT project management, including IT Project Risk & Recovery and IT Project Management for Citizen Developers. She holds a certification as a Mendix Rapid Application Developer and a PMI Citizen Developer Practitioner credential, and teaches both traditional programming approaches and emerging low-code/no-code development methods and platforms. 

Her research interests include IT project management, team commitment and motivation, human factors in technology, and information systems education. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Computers in Human Behavior, International Journal of Managing Projects in Business, Journal of Information Systems Applied Research, and the Information Systems Education Journal.  Her recent work explores project continuation intentions, over-optimism in IS project teams, and the use of reflection, SMART goals, and growth mindset activities to enhance student learning.

With more than a decade of industry experience as a software developer, Dr. Korzaan blends scholarly research with real-world insight in her teaching. She has been recognized with the Kathy & Bill Jones Outstanding Faculty Award and contributes to the profession through editorial board service with the Journal of Information Systems Education (Senior Editorial Board) and the Information Systems Education Journal. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute, where she helps foster connections and opportunities for students.
