Biography
Melissa Wald, assistant professor, earned her undergraduate degree in the music industry from Belmont University. She earned a Masters in adult education and distance learning from the University of Phoenix. Before coming to MTSU, she worked with several Music Publishing companies representing songs and songwriters from country music and Contemporary Christian music.

Melissa Wald, assistant professor, earned her undergraduate degree in the music industry from Belmont University. She earned a Masters in adult education and distance learning from the University of Phoenix. Before coming to MTSU, she worked with several Music Publishing companies representing songs and songwriters from country music and Contemporary Christian music.
She has been involved in the testing and design of software for royalty calculation and was recently asked to write supporting documentation and help manuals for a newly released royalty tracking system.
She remains active in the music industry through her ownership of a consulting company, Copyright Solutions, which represents artist, songwriter and producer clients as well as several independent record labels in the areas of licensing and royalty calculation and collection. Some of her clients include HIT Entertainment (Barney), Island Bound Music, SESAC, RiZen, and many songwriters and producers.
Outside of her love of music, she is an avid sports fan.
