Biography

In 2017, Michael A. Erskine, Ph.D. joined the faculty of the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University as an Assistant Professor. Prior to joining MTSU, Dr. Erskine had served as the Director of the Educational Technology Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In 2017, Michael A. Erskine, Ph.D. joined the faculty of the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University as an Assistant Professor. Prior to joining MTSU, Dr. Erskine had served as the Director of the Educational Technology Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In this role, he was responsible for all technologies found in physical learning spaces, led numerous technology implementation projects, such as media storage and academic computing environments, and provided design guidance for various university-wide technology processes.

Dr. Erskine is a graduate of the Computer Science and Information Systems Ph.D. program at the University of Colorado Denver. His research interests include disaster management, geographic information systems, educational technology and spatial decision support systems. His research has been presented at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), the International Conference on Information Resources Management (ConfIRM), the IEEE Digital Ecosystems and Technologies Conference (DEST), and the International Conference on Project Management (ProjMAN). Additionally, his work has been published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, the International Journal of Electronic Government Research and the Journal of Computer Information Systems. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems and the Decision Sciences Institute.

Dr. Erskine currently teaches Web Development and Project Management at MTSU. Previously he has taught courses at three institutions at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Topics for these courses have included business problem solving, operating systems, systems analysis and business web page development.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys scuba diving, sailing, mountain biking and hiking.
