Biography
Dr. Mohammad Arif Hossain earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He also holds an M.Sc. from Kookmin University in South Korea and a B.Sc. from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in Bangladesh.

Read More »Dr. Mohammad Arif Hossain earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He also holds an M.Sc. from Kookmin University in South Korea and a B.Sc. from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in Bangladesh.
Dr. Hossain’s research area includes AI-assisted cloud and edge computing, distributed machine learning, AI-enhanced next-generation wireless networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He has (co-)authored nearly 50 publications in leading journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, and the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. Additionally, he has enhanced his industry knowledge through a research internship.
An active contributor to IEEE standardization efforts, Dr. Hossain has made substantial contributions to groups such as IEEE 802.15.7r1, IEEE 802.15 TG7, and IEEE 802.15 IG DEP. He has submitted over 25 technical contributions to these groups and holds a patent in his area of expertise. He is a member of IEEE, the IEEE Computer Society, and the IEEE Communications Society.
Beyond his research and standardization work, Dr. Hossain serves as a reviewer for renowned journals and conferences, including IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, and the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. He has also been an active participant in the Technical Program Committee (TPC) for high-profile conferences, such as the 2022 IEEE 23rd International Conference on High-Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR 2022), demonstrating his commitment to advancing scholarship and collaboration within his field. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Hossain has received numerous nominations for fellowships and awards, reflecting his outstanding contributions during both his Ph.D. studies and earlier academic endeavors.
