I specialize in early American literary, medical, and antislavery political writing with a focus on print culture, the health humanities, and visual culture.
Biography
I am an assistant professor of English teaching courses in American literature, literature and medicine, narrative medicine, and science fiction. I joined MTSU in Fall 2025 after completing my PhD in English and Visual Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. My current book project examines how early American antislavery writers engaged with conversations in medicine and medical illustration to redefine how their peers saw the human body.
