Biography
Richard Tarpey has spent the better part of the last 30 years working with resource scheduling concepts and systems in the airline and health care industries. He was with HCA for over 20 years and has worked extensively with hospital labor scheduling and staffing during this time. Before that time, he worked with United Airlines in Chicago. Read More »Richard Tarpey has spent the better part of the last 30 years working with resource scheduling concepts and systems in the airline and health care industries. He was with HCA for over 20 years and has worked extensively with hospital labor scheduling and staffing during this time. Before that time, he worked with United Airlines in Chicago. During the last ten years, Richard has led HCA’s Scheduling Excellence initiative and most recently, the Workforce Planning Center initiative which places operational staffing and scheduling into a shared services environment. Richard developed the “Staff Schedule Quality Measurement” system which has been adopted by several companies in the healthcare industry. The majority of Richard’s professional industry career has been spent within various Information Technology development and labor-management operational areas giving him a thorough understanding of technology and organizational system concepts. Dr. Tarpey received his DBA degree from the University of South Florida. He received his MBA degree from Middle Tennessee State.
