Biography
Rick Robbins is a music industry professional, producer, songwriter, and educator with more than three decades of experience in recording, publishing, touring, and live performance. Read More »Rick Robbins is a music industry professional, producer, songwriter, and educator with more than three decades of experience in recording, publishing, touring, and live performance. Throughout his career, he has owned and operated an independent music publishing company and production company while working with artists across multiple areas of the music industry. He spent 10 years touring with the hip-hop group GRITS, co-writing and producing much of the group’s music during that period. His work includes co-writing and producing the double-platinum single “Ooh Ahh (My Life Be Like),” which has gone on to reach audiences through numerous film, television, and other media placements. His touring and performance career has also included two years working with dc Talk and TobyMac, as well as five years touring as a member of Kelly Clarkson’s band. During that time, he also contributed programming, instrumentation, DJ performances, and remix work to several of Clarkson’s recordings. Robbins’ work has contributed to multiple Grammy Award nominations, numerous Dove Award nominations and three Dove Award wins, as well as a Billboard Music Video Award. He is also a voting member of the Recording Academy. He spent 7 years as an adjunct in Belmont University’s Music Business School and 5 years as the Director of the Music Business Track with CMC Nashville/Greenville University.
