Dr. Robert B. Blair is chairman and professor of Marketing in the Jennings A. Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He also serves on the graduate faculty. Dr. Blair received a Ph.D. in Vocational Education from Louisiana State University, M.B.E. in Business Education from MTSU, and B.S. in Business Administration and Business Education from Oral Roberts University. Dr. Blair has taught at the secondary and collegiate levels. He has also served as sponsor to Collegiate DECA, Future Business Leaders of America, Phi Beta Lambda, and Collegiate Secretaries International chapters. He is a lifetime member of FBLA-PBL.

Dr. Blair is a Certified Online Instructor, Certified Business and Social Etiquette Consultant, Certified Dale Carnegie® Trainer, and Professional Registered Parliamentarian. He was the first Tennessee career and technical education teacher to earn National Board Certification.

During his 34-year teaching career, Dr. Blair has been the recipient of 30 honors and awards for teaching, research, and service. He was the recipient the Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians Alpha Brown Individual Achievement Award 2019 (2012), Jennings A. Jones College of Business Outstanding Service Award 2019, MTSU 20-year Service Award, MTSU Public Service Award 2015-2016, National Business Education Association (NBEA) Distinguished Service Award 2016, National Association for Business Teacher Education (NABTE) Outstanding Leadership Award 2015, National Association of Parliamentarians District III Outstanding Teacher of Parliamentary Procedure 2013, Jones College of Business Outstanding Faculty Award 2008-2009, NBEA Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award 2007, Southern Business Education Association (SBEA) Outstanding Leadership Award 2007, and the Robert McLean Distinguished Associate Professor Award 2006-2007. Dr. Blair is an accomplished academic author and conference presenter. 

Blair is actively involved in professional and public service. He has been a member of NBEA/SBEA for 34 years. He is currently serving on the NBEA Strategic Planning Committee. He served as the Association for Business Teaching and Research (ABTR,  previously NABTE) Institutional Representative for ten years. Blair serves on the NBEA Nominating Committee, SBEA Past Presidents Council and as president of the Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians.  

Dr. Blair is past president of the National Business Education Association, National Association for Business Teacher Education, Southern Business Education Association, Tennessee Business Education Association, Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians, Gamma Eta Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon, Tennessee Delta Unit of Parliamentarians, and Murfreesboro Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. He served two terms as Tennessee Association for Career and Technical Education vice president. He is an active member of several professional associations. Dr. Blair serves on many other national, regional, state, and local organization committees.
