Biography
Sally Ann Cruikshank teaches journalism courses in digital media. She researches press freedom in post-genocide and post-conflict societies and has conducted field research in Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Myanmar (Burma). Her research has been presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, including African Journalism Studies and Journalism Practice. She researches press freedom in post-genocide and post-conflict societies and has conducted field research in Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Myanmar (Burma). Her research has been presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, including African Journalism Studies and Journalism Practice. She received her Ph.D. from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, following several years working as an award-winning television news producer for CBS in Miami and Pittsburgh.
