Dr. Salter joined the faculty of the Jones College of Business in August 2007.  At MTSU, he has taught courses in Personal Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Real Estate Finance and Investment.  A certified Dale Carnegie Senior Tainer, he has facilitated the Dale Carnegie Course at MTSU since January 2016.  Prior to joining the faculty at MTSU, Dr. Salter served on the faculty of the College of Business at the University of Southern Mississippi and was a full-time instructor in the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama.  As of Fall 2025, he has more than 29 years' experience as an university-level instructor.
