Biography
Dr. Staci A. Spring enjoys a versatile career as a professional bassoonist and educator. She joined the MTSU School of Music as Lecturer of Bassoon & Academic Studies in 2024, and has been artist faculty for the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts summer program since 2016. Read More »Dr. Staci A. Spring enjoys a versatile career as a professional bassoonist and educator. She joined the MTSU School of Music as Lecturer of Bassoon & Academic Studies in 2024, and has been artist faculty for the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts summer program since 2016. An active performer, Spring can be heard on bassoon and contrabassoon as a frequent guest musician with professional orchestras throughout the tri-state region, including the Knoxville Symphony, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, Chattanooga Bach Choir, Huntsville Symphony, Nashville Symphony, and Nashville Opera. As a soloist and collaborative musician, Dr. Spring participates in creative projects and recording sessions with musicians across the United States. She maintains a private bassoon studio and is the founder/director of the Scenic City Bassoon Ensemble.
