Ms. Fortson is a fashion Lecturer in the Textiles, Merchandising and Design (TXMD) program. She earned her BS in Textiles, Merchandising and Design with a concentration in Apparel Design from Middle Tennessee State University and her MPS in Fashion Marketing from LIM College in New York. She teaches courses in Apparel Foundations Applications, Fashion Product Development and Fashion Promotion.

Ms. Fortson has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years and is currently a fashion designer and stylist and is interested in all aspects of the fashion industry.  She has held varying positions in the industry including fashion director for a magazine, merchandising assistant for a buying department, and fashion show producer for a major retailer. Ms. Fortson enjoys staying current in the fashion industry by networking and attending events. She is excited and thrilled that she has the opportunity of giving back and helping the next generation of fashion professionals think outside of the box and reach their full potential.
