Biography
Timothy R. Moake (Ph.D. University of Missouri) is an Associate Professor of Management. He teaches courses in Human Resource Management, Talent Acquisition & Management, Organizational Behavior, and Principles of Management. Read More »Timothy R. Moake (Ph.D. University of Missouri) is an Associate Professor of Management. He teaches courses in Human Resource Management, Talent Acquisition & Management, Organizational Behavior, and Principles of Management. He is also an active researcher whose primary stream of research focuses on workplace learning and career development, where he analyzes the benefits of mentoring and explores how various employee, organizational, and cultural characteristics can enhance or detract from employee growth. He also researches stress and wellness and HR best practices. His research has received accolades, such as the Douglas Nigh Award from the International Management Division of the Academy of Management (2017) and another paper nominated for the Best Conference Paper Award at the Strategic Management Society’s annual conference in 2016. His research has been published in various journals, such as the Journal of Managerial Psychology and the Journal of Career Development, and has been picked up by multiple media outlets. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., Tim worked for several years in the financial services industry, including as an entrepreneur, where he owned and ran a mortgage brokerage. Additionally, he taught high school business courses for five years, which also encompassed managing the school store, serving as the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor, and coaching boys basketball. Tim and his wife, Jamie, live in Murfreesboro with their three children.
