Esmond scored his first Grammy success as a producer and writer on Christian hip-hop star Lecrae’s album Gravity, which was awarded Best Gospel Album. Two years later, Esmond won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Messengers.”
From there, he racked up production credits with 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, G-Eazy, Ludacris, Wale, and Dave East, to name a few. Esmond also added another Grammy nod for his work on Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap (“Hussle & Motivate”) in the Best Rap Album category.
Esmond draws from two primary influences: hip-hop culture and orchestral ballads. (He started his musical path playing violin in the Suzuki Institute.) He is acclaimed for unifying heavy drums with strings, brass, piano chords, and layered melodies that hit all the right notes.
The record producer, composer, and music executive also established his own imprint, Track Or Die, a production and music publishing company.
