Biography
Yelin Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University. Yelin received her Ph.D. in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2023. Read More »Yelin Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University. Yelin received her Ph.D. in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2023. She received her master’s degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University, and her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shanghai International Studies University in China. Her current research combines insights from psychology and economics to study how monetary incentives and management control systems facilitate corporate decision-making. She has taught a variety of courses, including Intermediate Accounting II, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and the Accounting Capstone at Seattle Pacific University, and Intermediate Accounting I and Data Analytics for Accountants at VCU. Before pursuing her PhD, Yelin oversaw financial reporting and auditing at a non-profit organization on the north shore of Boston. Prior to that, she took different accounting/finance roles in higher education, non-profit organizations, and a regional governmental office in Massachusetts. Previously, she worked in Hang Seng Bank (HSBC Group) and interned at PwC in Shanghai, China.
