John Steinbeck died in 1968, but the contested ownership of his novels has gone through decades of litigation.

 

On Feb. 25, Gail Knight Steinbeck recounted her struggle in court and the free-speech implications of the situation in a Free Speech Center Zoom program, “The Grapes of Wrath to East of Eden: The Legal Battle over John Steinbeck’s Great Works.”
