COVID-19 Testing


Health Services is offering rapid antigen and in house PCR tests at the provider's discretion for currently enrolled students at no charge by appointment. Please bring a copy of your driver's license and insurance card to your appointment

Testing at Student Health Services is available for students only. Faculty and staff are encouraged to seek testing from their primary care provider. Testing is also available in the community at urgent care clinics and pharmacies. At home rapid testing kits are also available at MTSU Campus Pharmacy, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and other retailers.

COVID-19 Symptoms

COVID-19 infection may cause a wide range of symptoms – from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Testing at the Rutherford County Health Department

The local health department is also providing free COVID testing free and without restrictions.  Please visit: Rutherford County Health Department for the latest testing schedule.
