                                                                      Add trusted sites to Internet Explorer to limit the number of Java update prompts (see instructions below)
                                                                  ** For Workflow Modeler, JRE 5 update 22 is required so it must be accessed via VDI (aka CAM - Cloud @ Middle)

 Upgrade to JRE 7 Update 75 Instructions:
 Add Trusted Sites for Internet Explorer Instructions:
  1. Click on JRE 7 update 75
  2. A pop up window at the bottom of the screen will display "Do you want to run or save jre-7u75-windows-i586.exe (28.0 MB) from mtsu.edu?" Please disregard the warning "This type of file could harm your computer." since this file was scanned and verified by ITD Click on the "Run" button
  3. A pop up window will display "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer? Program name: Java SE Runtime Environment 7 update 75". Click on the "Yes" button
  4. A new screen will be displayed stating Welcome to Java. Click on the "Install" button
  5. A new screen will be displayed with an offer to install the FREE Browser Add-on from Ask. This is an optional step and the Add-on is NOT required for Java. Uncheck the 2 boxes if you do not want the Add-on. Click on the "Next" button
  6. The Java installation process will run then display a confirmation screen when it has been completed. Click on the "Close" button to continue
  7. When the Java installation is complete your web browser software will display the "Verify Java" page. Click on the "Agree and Continue" button
  8. The Java software will check and verify that your installation has been successfully completed. Close and restart your web browser software
  9. Set your java security and exception site list as follows:
    1. Open your Java Control Panel (Start/Control Panel/Java on Windows)
      Click on the "Security" tab
    2. Set the Security Level to High
    3. Edit the Exception Site List and add these two entries
      https://netscalerc01.mtsu.edu
      https://inb.mtsu.edu
    4. Click on "Apply" then "OK" buttons
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on Tools on the top menu bar
  3. Click on Internet Options at the bottom of the Tools drop-down
  4. Click on the Security tab
  5. Click on the Trusted Sites (green check mark)
  6. Click on the Sites button
  7. Uncheck the check box that reads Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
  8. Type the following in the Add this website to the zone: box
         http://*.mtsu.edu
  9. Click the Add button
  10. Type the following in the Add this website to the zone: box
         https://*.mtsu.edu
  11. Click the Add button
  12. The two lines should now be visible in the Websites: box
  13. Click on the Close button
  14. Click on the OK button
  15. Close Internet Explorer
  16. Restart Internet Explorer



Note: If you have Windows XP, you may need to change your Java Security tab's setting to Medium instead of High.
